Uganda Judicial Service Commission to recruit judges

The Judicial Service Commission in Uganda is offering extraordinary chances for eligible citizens to join the country’s judiciary. The commission has released a call for applications for various vacant positions within the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

To be eligible for the position of Justice of the Supreme Court, applicants must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized institution, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Candidates should have significant experience as a Justice of the Court of Appeal, Judge of the High Court, or practicing Advocate, with a minimum of fifteen years in the field. The Chief Justice will supervise the appointed Justice of the Supreme Court.

For the role of Justice of the Court of Appeal, candidates must possess an LLB Degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and relevant advanced qualifications. Prospective applicants should have served as a Judge of the High Court or a court with unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters, or practiced as an Advocate for at least ten years. The Deputy Chief Justice will oversee the work of the appointed Justices of the Court of Appeal.
