Kampala, Uganda – In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked the community of Olitoi village in Asamuk Town Council, Amuria District, a 53-year-old man stands accused of sexually assaulting his own elderly mother, who is 100 years old. The suspect’s actions have left the community in disbelief and anguish.
According to Mr. Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, the horrifying incident unfolded on the night of September 8th when the suspect, who had recently separated from his wife, returned home at 11 pm. He found his elderly mother sleeping peacefully in her grass-thatched house. What followed is a horrifying tale of betrayal and brutality. The man then proceeded to tie her hands using a mosquito net before committing the unspeakable crime.
The police, upon receiving information about the incident, took swift action to apprehend the suspect. Residents in the area were understandably outraged by the heinous act and had intentions to take the law into their own hands, but the timely intervention of the police prevented any further harm to the suspect.
Mr. Enanga stated during a weekly police press briefing, “We rushed him to Asamuk Health Centre III for medical examination and that is where we are guarding him.”
Upon visiting the scene of the crime, law enforcement officials discovered the door of the victim’s house broken, with beddings scattered about, providing further evidence of the disturbing event that had transpired.
The entire community has been left in shock and disbelief at the actions of the alleged perpetrator. “This is an abomination where a son, instead of protecting an elderly mother, victimized her in one of the most shameful and inhumane acts,” Mr. Enanga expressed. He also mentioned that the suspect would be subjected to a mental examination to determine his mental state at the time of the crime.
