MBARARA, January 09,2024 | In a heartbreaking incident that has sent shock waves through the serene community of Nsiika Cell, Ntura parish, Mbarara district, a mother and her 18-year-old daughter were discovered lifeless in their home on January 6th, 2024. The victims, identified as a 49-year-old mother and her 18-year-old daughter, had visited a relative in Nsiika cell on the 5th of January.
The unfortunate turn of events began when the mother received a call from her estranged husband, Musinguzi Deus, aged 55, inquiring about their whereabouts. The relationship between the couple had soured, and tensions lingered in the air. The duo returned to their residence, and from that moment, they vanished from the community’s sight until the grim discovery the next day.
When concerned residents decided to check on the family home, they were met with a harrowing sight – the lifeless bodies of the mother and daughter, both victims of a brutal attack. Their heads had been mercilessly smashed with a blunt object, leaving the community in shock and grief.
The police swiftly launched an investigation into the double homicide, leading to the arrest of three suspects. Musinguzi Deus, the deceased woman’s husband, Ainemukama Julius, her stepson aged 25, and Kyohairwe Rosemary, a co-wife aged 50, were taken into custody due to their close association with the victims and their questionable behavior.
According to police spokesperson Enanga, the suspects, already entangled in a complex family dispute, were the last individuals to have contact with the victims before their tragic demise. Their suspicious conduct raised concerns about the possibility of them taking matters into their own hands.
The close-knit community of Nsiika Cell is grappling with the shock of this heinous crime, as they come to terms with the loss of two lives. Authorities are urging residents to remain calm as the investigation unfolds, promising a thorough examination of the evidence to ensure justice is served.
