NAIORBI | Kenyan authorities in Kakamega are currently investigating seven women who were apprehended over allegations of possessing pornographic materials. The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) conducted the operation, resulting in the arrest of the suspects, including one Ugandan citizen, in a rental house in Lurambi.

The operation took place on Saturday evening, and the DCI agents recovered electronic devices and what is believed to be pornographic materials from the apartment. The items seized included laptops, desktop computers, sex toys, and cameras suspected to be used for creating pornographic content.

According to Kakamega County Police Commander Joseph Kigen, the suspects are currently in custody, pending further investigations. The electronic devices retrieved have been sent for forensic analysis to determine whether they were involved in the production or distribution of pornographic content.

Kigen dispelled earlier claims that the arrested individuals were students from local colleges, stating that representatives from institutions confirmed that the suspects were not enrolled as students. The investigation aims to establish the motive behind the incident and the extent of their involvement in any illegal activities. The police are awaiting the laboratory results to continue their inquiry.
