The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has made important appointments to enhance the delivery of justice in Uganda. In a recent commission meeting chaired by Justice Benjamin I Kabito, five individuals were appointed as Acting Assistant Registrars, while 87 others were appointed as Magistrates Grade One on probation. These appointments aim to bring judicial services closer to the people and improve access to justice.
The appointments of the Acting Assistant Registrars and Magistrates Grade One demonstrate the Judiciary’s commitment to expanding its services and ensuring efficient administration of justice at the county level. The newly appointed individuals will play crucial roles in handling various legal matters, including civil cases, thereby enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of the judiciary system.
Among the Acting Assistant Registrars appointed are Namutebi Christine Kellen, Tumwebaze Kenneth, Nankya Nusulah, Naluyima Rania, and Atigo Hellen. These individuals will assume their roles with the responsibility of supporting and facilitating judicial processes. The list of the 87 Individuals appointed as Magistrates Grade One on probation includes Rekyeraho Obed, Muhumuza Moses, Nagaddya Joanitah, Nassuna Yvonne Grace, Kwagala Winnifred Sarah, Gonzaga Mbalangu, Mukuru Joshua, Pauline Martha Kamuli, and many others. These newly appointed magistrates will undergo a probationary period before they are conformed in service to permanently apply their legal expertise to preside over cases and contribute to the fair and efficient dispensation of justice.
