KAMPALA, March 26, 2024 | Famous TikToker Ibrahim Musana, also known as Pressure 24/7, currently facing charges for hate speech and disseminating false information, has voiced grave allegations against Prisons authorities at Luzira, claiming that they forced him to undergo suspicious medical tests.
Musana, currently on remand at Luzira Prison for alleged defamation against Buganda King Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II and President Museveni, raised concerns through his legal representatives at Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s court. He informed court that he underwent blood sample extractions and received treatment at the prison hospital without his understanding or approval.
When contacted, prison authorities informed court that it is standard procedure for all new inmates to undergo medical assessments to prevent the spread of diseases like tuberculosis. Frank Baine, the Prisons spokesperson, affirmed this practice, stating that it aims to identify individuals in need of medical attention to ensure the well-being of all inmates. Baine reiterated that Musana’s rights were not violated, as per the established procedures.
Meanwhile, the prosecution, led by State Attorney Ivan Kyazze, informed the court that investigations are nearing completion and requested a 14-day extension to finalize their inquiries. Consequently, the trial Magistrate adjourned the case to April 11th, 2024, to allow the prosecution ample time to conclude their investigations.
Prosecution alleged that between August 2023 and February 2024 in areas of Kampala district, while using a computer via his tik-tok account, Pressure 24 Seven shared information which is likely to degrade or demean and promote hostility against four leaders including the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi 2, President Museveni, Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among and State Minister for Information Communication Technology Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo.
