Italian National Arrested in Uganda for Alleged Sexual Assault on Maid

Murder by strangulation

11th September 2023.

Kampala, Uganda – Ugandan authorities have taken swift action to apprehend a 53-year-old Italian national, Patrick Forouzesh, following allegations of sexual assault on a 23-year-old maid. The disturbing incident is said to have occurred on September 5, 2023, at around 5:00 p.m. in Mpigi, a town located southwest of the capital, Kampala.

According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the victim’s ordeal began when she was offered a job as a housemaid by the suspect. Her sister, who is involved in the chicken feed business, introduced her to Patrick, who promised a monthly salary of shillings 200,000. Grateful for the opportunity, the young woman commenced her employment on September 4, 2023.

However, the promising beginning took a horrifying turn the very next day. While she was simply going about her duties, cleaning a table, Patrick allegedly seized her, forcibly dragged her onto a sofa, and sexually assaulted her. Shockingly, he claimed that such acts were commonplace during rainy weather.

In the aftermath of this traumatic incident, the victim confided in her sister, who promptly took action by reporting the matter to the authorities. The revelations were made during the weekly joint security briefing at Naguru in Kampala.

On September 6, 2023, the matter was officially reported to the Mpigi Police Station. As part of the investigation, the victim underwent a medical examination, and DNA samples were collected as crucial evidence. Simultaneously, Patrick Forouzesh was apprehended and subjected to examination.

Ugandan law enforcement officials have vowed to diligently investigate cases involving individuals who exploit and sexually assault female workers. They are working closely with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to ensure that the suspect faces the full legal consequences of his actions.
