KAMPALA, January 12, 2024 | Exciting news for residents of Kiboga as the Judiciary prepares to inaugurate a High Court Circuit in the region on February 19th, 2024. This move, aimed at enhancing judicial accountability and access to justice, is a significant milestone in the quest for legal empowerment and fairness for all.
The event, set to be graced by Principal Judge Dr. Flavia Zeija, under the theme “Enhancing Judicial Accountability and Access to Justice,” promises to bring legal services closer to the people of Kiboga and surrounding areas.
This development follows the recent operationalization of High Court Circuits in Bushenyi, Kasese, and Kitgum, as part of a broader initiative by the Judiciary to expand its reach and streamline court services across the country.
Chief Registrar Sarah Langa Sui expressed optimism about the launch, highlighting the Judiciary’s commitment to ensuring swift and efficient access to justice for all Ugandans. According to her, the creation of 18 new circuits in January 2024, bringing the total nationwide to 38, emphasizes the Judiciary’s dedication to its transformation agenda.
During the recently concluded judges’ conference, the Chief Justice Owiny Dollo emphasized the importance of the Judiciary’s transformation agenda in facilitating access to justice services across Uganda. He observed that the establishment of additional courts reflects a proactive approach to meet the evolving needs of communities and uphold the principles of fairness and equity in the legal system.
