KAMPALA, April 09, 2024 | Thirteen former employees of Entebbe Handling Services Limited (ENHAS) have petitioned court demanding payment of 3.7 billion Uganda Shillings in unpaid salaries and benefits.
The petitioners, including Yofes Atabua Dragudi, Sostene Echodu, Nelson Adriiko, Edwin Epeduno, John Okwi, Moses Bayo, Alex Ronald Bigirwa, Yuda Sekyanzi, Akim Butele, Emmanuel Engambwa, and Robert Luyimbazi, assert that they worked diligently for the company from 2002 to 2019. During their tenure, they held various positions and received monthly salaries ranging between 772,505 and 1.2 million Uganda Shillings.
Court documents reveal that these individuals were part of the ramp services department of Entebbe Handling Services Limited, where they dedicated their efforts until their termination. Despite their commitment, they claim they were not compensated for injuries sustained during operational incidents, which goes against Section 3 of the Workers’ Compensation Act. The company, however, is yet to respond to the petition lodged against them.
