KAMPALA, March 11, 2024 | Five individuals have been remanded to Luzira Prison in connection with the murder of Eng. Dan Bbosa, the Ndiga clan head who was fatally shot on February 25 in Kikandwa, Lungujja, Rubaga division.
During proceedings at Mwanga II Court presided over by Grade One Magistrate Adam Byaruhanga, Milly Naluwenda, Harriet Nakiguli, Joseph Nakabale, Noah Lujja, and Ezra Mayanja, along with others at large, were charged with the murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa. Byaruhanga read out the charges of murder to the accused, citing sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act.
In his statement, Byaruhanga clarified the court’s jurisdiction, informing the accused that if they wished to apply for bail, they could do so in the High Court. The case was adjourned to April 11, 2024, for mention.
State Attorney Caroline Mpumwire from the Office of Public Prosecutions informed the court that investigations into the matter were ongoing and requested the magistrate to adjourn the case to another date for mention.
Meanwhile, during a weekly press briefing, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga disclosed that the search for the prime suspect, Lujja Bbosa Tabula, was still underway. Enanga revealed that Tabula was evading authorities and remained at large. In an effort to expedite his capture, a bounty of 10 million Ugandan shillings has been offered for anyone who can provide credible information leading to his arrest.
