KAMPALA, February 25, 2024 | In a somber incident that has shocked the community, the Buganda Kingdom clan head of the Ndiga, Mr. Daniel Bbosa, has been tragically murdered in Natete, Kikandwa zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division. The heinous act, occurring as Mr. Bbosa approached his residence, has plunged the community into mourning and raised concerns over security in the area.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, confirmed the distressing news, stating that Mr. Bbosa was ambushed by assailants on a motorcycle. “The assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire at Mr. Bbosa’s motor vehicle, bearing the registration number UAH637X, resulting in his immediate demise,” Owoyesigire disclosed.
In a display of bravery amidst the chaos, a vigilant local resident intervened by knocking down the assailant’s motorcycle, an act that swiftly mobilized community members. The collective effort led to a confrontation with the assailants, culminating in mob justice that left one assailant dead at the scene and another in critical condition.
The police spokesperson further shared that the motive behind the appalling attack remains unclear, with investigations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators ongoing. “We have recovered the firearm allegedly used in the murder incident, along with the motorcycle registration number UEX 754E utilized by the assailants during the attack. These findings will be instrumental in our ongoing investigation,” Owoyesigire confirmed.
The loss of Mr. Daniel Bbosa has left a void in the hearts of many, highlighting the profound impact he had on his community and the Buganda Kingdom at large. As the investigation continues, there is a collective call for justice for Mr. Bbosa and a renewed focus on ensuring the safety and security of community members.
