KASESE, UGANDA | A heart-wrenching tale of tragedy and loss has unfolded in Kasese District, where Muhindo Jackson, a resident of Mukunyu trading center, has confessed to the gruesome murders of his wife, Biira Mary, and his own brother, Kabutusi Jolesi.
This shocking revelation came to light after months of suspicion and unanswered questions surrounding the disappearance of Biira Mary. What was initially reported as a missing person’s case has now transformed into a harrowing tale of domestic abuse and violence.
Muhindo Jackson and Biira Mary had lived together for a decade in what relatives describe as an abusive relationship. Their ordeal began in January 2023 when Biira Mary mysteriously vanished. Her worried family relentlessly pressured Jackson to reveal her whereabouts, but he persistently offered excuses and remained uncooperative.
In September 2023, the case was brought to the attention of the Bwera police. Upon questioning, Jackson finally admitted to the horrific crime, confessing that he had killed his wife and secretly buried her. The victim, Biira Mary, was a 40-year-old peasant from Mukunyu trading center.
The nightmare didn’t end there. During the investigation, it was shockingly revealed that Jackson had also murdered his own biological brother, Kabutusi Jolesi, in July 2023, and concealed his remains in Kyabikere 1 village, Kanyasi town council.
Jackson’s motives and actions have sent shockwaves through the community. It is believed that he may have been involved in the practice of witchcraft and that he had no children with his wife. His alleged wickedness had made him a dreaded figure in the area.
