Kampala, Uganda – A 30-year-old man identified as Deo Mutabaazi, residing in the Wabiyinja zone of Mutundwe, Bunamwaya in Wakiso district, has been apprehended following allegations of engaging in sexual abuse against two teenagers aged 11 and 12. Mutabaazi was taken into custody by the Nateete police after medical examinations confirmed that the two boys had been subjected to acts of sodomy. He now faces charges of aggravated defilement and sodomy in connection with the case.
According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspicious activities were brought to light by vigilant neighbors who noticed that Mutabaazi would often close his door when the boys entered his residence. Upon peering into the premises, the neighbors grew alarmed and promptly informed both the parents and the area defense secretary.
A subsequent investigation, conducted by Nateete detectives, revealed that when the defense secretary and other concerned locals entered Mutabaazi’s residence, they discovered the two boys seated on his bed. The presence of lubricants in the vicinity raised further suspicion, indicating potential use during the alleged acts.
Disturbingly, subsequent to Mutabaazi’s apprehension, additional reports have emerged from more boys who claim to have fallen victim to his actions. These victims assert that Mutabaazi had previously threatened them with harm if they were to report the incidents.
The police has urged parents whose children have had any contact with Mutabaazi to arrange for medical examinations. The Nateete police stress the importance of protecting children and have vowed to hold those responsible for child sexual abuse accountable. Parents have been advised to remain cautious and observant of individuals who forge close relationships with their children, regardless of gender.
